How to Store and Carry Multiple Trading Card Game Decks

One deck fits in any box. It's when you're bringing three to game night, plus sleeves, dice and tokens, that things fall apart. Here's how to store and carry multiple decks so they stay organized, protected and ready to play.
1. Sleeve every deck you play
Sleeves protect cards from wear, spills and bent corners, and they make shuffling easier. Keep in mind that sleeves add thickness. A deck box that fits 60 bare cards may not fit 60 sleeved ones, so always check a box's sleeved capacity. Double sleeving adds even more, so check that too before you buy.
2. Give every deck its own slot
Loose decks rubber banded together get bent and mixed up. Each deck should have its own compartment, whether that's separate deck boxes or a box built to hold several. It keeps decks from shifting, and it means you never have to sort cards at the table.
3. Carry them together
A pile of separate deck boxes is easy to lose one from. If you regularly bring more than one deck, a box that holds several keeps everything in one piece. Look for one where you can get to any deck without unpacking the others.
4. Label your decks
A small label or a colored sleeve for each deck saves you from opening boxes to find the right one. Keep a deck list with each deck, too. It makes checking for missing cards quick.
5. Keep the extras with the deck
Dice, tokens, damage counters and a playmat go wherever the deck goes. A small bag or a dedicated spot in your carry case means you never show up without them.
6. Protect them from heat and humidity
Heat and moisture are the biggest threats to a collection. Humidity makes cards curl, and heat can warp both cards and sleeves. Never leave decks in a hot car, and store them somewhere cool and dry, away from windows and bathrooms.
7. Store the rest of the collection separately
Keep the decks you play apart from your bulk cards and binder collection. Decks go in deck boxes, ready to grab. Bulk goes in storage boxes. Valuable singles go in toploaders or a binder with side loading pages.
